Our evening out was cut short. While at the wedding, we got a call from our nurse that Avery was very lethargic and running a fever of 102. She had given him motrin and tylenol and it was not budging. She kept him in the bath for some time and it went down a bit. So we headed home. A fever for him can be a pretty big deal b/c it leads to dehydration and lots of other things. I really feel that we can ride this one out at home, hopefully. The plan is to keep him dosed up with motrin and tylenol and see how he is in the am. If he is still feverish then off to the pedi's which is not usually productive as they usually will ship us off the Children's b/c they are so scared of him getting worse. I believe he just has a sinus infection or some virus. I can look in his ears in the am and they can check out his sinuses and throat. Sure if he suddenly goes downhill then we will go to Childrens but if we can manage him at home we are sure gonna try it. So please pray that we can keep him at home this time.

I hope Avery is feeling better today. Remeber, he has a port now and ANY fever is a big deal when you have a central line.

Sorry to hear your night was cut short.
