Well it has been a really long week. As you can imagine. We have basically spent the last 3 weekends in the hospital. Hopefully the third times a charm. We are really getting a plan in place for Avery. It is actually quite complicated but I think this long hospital stay will avoid future stays. He will be in for about another week or two. Sigh!!! I will be spending my 34th Birthday in the hospital with my little man. Yay. Happy Birthday to ME!!! Birthday's become so unimportant when you have to focus on the health of your children.
So the plan for Avery is to keep in on TPN which is basically IV nutrition which can be dangerous if not monitored really closely for the next week or two in order to prove to the surgeons that he needs a surgical j. This is the only way Avery thrives is a tube that is surgically inserted into his small intestines. The drs. are leary on doing this on a child this small unless a good case is made which is what the team is trying to do. Because he is chronically dehydrated, he will go home with a central line in his chest called a porta cath to give him extra IV fluids through the night. Sounds complicated huh. Still trying to make sense of it myself. Hopefully all this work will put Avery on the road to recovery so he can start to do more things developmentally. As a result of all of this, obviously my work has taken a hit so I applied for the FMLA (family medical leave act) until we can get Avery stabilized, luckily they were so understanding. God is with me all the way. I will post when I can. Thanks for reading.

You and all the family are in our prayers. I've had FMLA since J was a baby...and it's been a life saver, just for the day's I have to take off for dr's apts, and not just hospital stays.
I hope this plan works wonders for that little man, and that he starts to feel much better soon.
hey hon,
Craig told me what's going on. So sorry. if its not onething its another. I hope this works for Avery. Hope my little boyfriend, Isaiah is doing good.
And Janessa did she start school yet?
And Happy Bday! who would have imagined all these trials and tribulations when we were at school.
Saying little prayers for you and the boys are always in my thoughts.
