Today was a much better day. Now that we are at a place that people know how to care for him. Avery had obviously lost alot of blood from all the vomitting yesterday, so much so that he is currently getting a transfusion. This would actually make three transfusions since March. So hematology came by and ordered some labs and so far everything looks good. Just think it is more mito related (when his body gets sick and just cannot replenish his own RBCs by himself).
They did a study on his tube to see if that was the cause of all the vomitting and it looks like it may be. Part of his intestines was kinked and his feed was backing up. Now this could have been going on even before the longer tube was placed. So will have to wait to see what GI says tomorrow. No idea on how that affects the tube or not.
Respiratory wise Avery sounds much better and I don't think he will develop a pneumonia b/c of all the pulmonary care he got last night.
So we are heading in the right direction of homeward. The new pedi. has called everyday getting the update which is fabulous. He is on top of everything and has no problem pager the drs. here to get things moving. Love this guy.
