Like I said it has been a productive week to say the least.........
First off, the kids are feeling great (except Janessa who ended up with strep but is fine now).
I have made so many much needed drs. appts for the boys and have actually changed a couple of big drs. to someone who will be much more involved. What has happened is that none of the boys drs. were invested in them so it was me doing all the talking and advocating. I really needed drs. to step up to the plate and all be on the same page and I think that is FINALLY going to happen.
One of the biggest changes is our new pedi. I met him today and he was awesome. Avery was only booked for 30 mins and he spent an hrs. just going over meds and some basics. We have an other appt. next week with him to really start to get things together. He obviously thinks Avery is in the hospital way too much and would like to do what he get to keep him hoome. Yay. He is all about qaulity of of life which is my kind of dr. And the biggest thing is he is not scared ar a little three yr old chunk-a-munk.
Yup that is what I called him b/c homeboy has gained a whopping 7 pounds since Dec. Wow, I knew he was heavy but I did not think he is only 4 pounds away from Isaiah who is 4yrs. older.
He was happy to have Isaiah too and he just seems like a go-getter and really involved and caring. I am just so excited. Also for the simple fact that he is really cute and my age. LOL. The nurse said mom's will wait hrs. to see him b/c he is so nice and cute. Hahaha
Also my goal is to really start reducing Avery's TPN time and increasing his feeds b/c fulltime TPN is just NOT good for the body and really limits your life. The body is just not meant to be fed that way. It can be a lifesaver as we have seen but just not something you want to stick with if there are other options. Thanks to a friend Christine, who has unfortunately struggled with her handsome guy with feeds and getting off of TPN, they have trialed a longer type of feeding j tube and he is doing better with it. She has that fire of determination in her which is kinda catchy in a good way. So I have made an appt. with this dr. in hopes of trying it with Avery and hopefully knocking down his TPN time and a much better quality if life.
Anyway things have been great. We are also trying to get Isaiah the much need help to reduce cycles. So lots of stuff ahead. So stay tuned.
On my end, since I have pack on a few pounds from the lovely food at the hospital, I got my big butt in the gym 5 days this week. Now lets hope I have the same motivation next week. LOL.

That is awesome that you found a dr that sounds eager to take on the boys cases! Good luck with all the appts and hoping they can get things working out better for all!

Great news! It's nice to hear you have your own Dr. McDreamy! Ha, ha! Seriously, it's great to hear you have found a doctor you have such confidence in to care for your boys.

LOL...YEAH...so glad I am able to help...I sure hope it helps Avery too..sometimes we need to try everything we can, even if that means leaving our "comfort zone" Childrens.
