It was great to get out of the hospital for a day and enjoy Janessa's recital with Rick and be able to go to dinner with friends. Janessa and all the girls did such a great job. It just sucked to have to go back to the hospital. Avery is doing much better and honestly could go home today by the way he looks but he cannot go until tues. It is because they are decreasing his TPN but it takes a bit for the pharmacy to make the changes. What a pain.
We are also trying to come up with some things to help combat his chronic pseudomonas. We have been in the hospital quite a bit with this lately and it is ridiculous. Avery sounds alot like a kid with cystic fibrosis in terms of his secretions and how he is not able to handle them, even though we have ruled out CF. So we are going to try a few treatments that are used for CF kids to see if that will help.
He central line seems to be clear of infection. YAY. They have stopped his IV antibiotics and since he is here until Tues. they will be able to see if he is getting sick again and if so they will treat him. But since he was negative in his bloodstream then I think that is a good sign. So this is great news that things seem to be clear.

I'm glad Janessa'a recital went so well.
Have you tried Tobramycin inhalations. The girls have done these and they are used by CF patients. It's an antibiotic that is inhaled through the nebeulizer to fight bacteria in the lungs. ie: chronic aspiration.
I hope Avery is home Tuesday.
Janessa is growing up too fast! I'm sure she did a great job during her recital, knowing her personality and ?possaz. Praying for Avery!
Love,
