A better end to a bad week

So the great news is Avery DOES NOT have a central line infection. YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
His labs look great so far. They are still keeping him on the IV antibiotics as preventitive until Monday which is fine b/c he is still running fevers and not feeling well. But it is soooo much better than dealing with something as serious as a line infection. Plus I would have felt totally defeated if he got an infection just a week into his TPN. I would have felt ultimately responsible. So I am just glad the way things turned out.

On the bad side. Poor Isaiah came back with strep throat and we think he also has a sinus infection. I will tell you that this kid is such a trooper. He has been so happy despite feeling so crappy. Such an easy going boy!!!!!

To toast off a horrible week. Good friends of ours sent us or me shall I say a couple of bottles of wine. Mmmmmm. Nothing like a snow storm a wine.

I promise to have some pictures this weekend of some smiles of the kids. I feel like things have sounded so depressing and that is not me. So some smiles are ahead. Thanks all.

I am so happy to read a good update about your boys. What fabulous news. Crossing my fingers things continue to improve (or at least stay the same as in not getting worse ;-) ). Much love and many hugs to you all. Nena and Reese

Nick,
I don't know anyone as amazing as you! Be grateful you don't live in Spencer anymore with the ice storm. We were without powr from Thurs mn til tues. No h2o-have a well. Luckily I work with nice people where I could shower q2days and get h2o. You would not believe this area-looks like a tornado came thru. Tonight is the 1st time reading your glob again. Isaiah's kicking cracked me up! I needed the laugh! Can't believe how much you are going thru w/Avery. Hope he doesn't get an infection. Praying for your family.
Love,
Elaine

So glad to hear Avery does not have a line infection.

I am thinking Logan also has strep. I hope the meds for Isaiah work quickly.

I just read the other days blog. I'm so sorry . It all sounds absolutely exhausting. You're doing a great job with your family. All of you. I'm so glad the news about the infection was good. What a welcome relief. I hope Isaiah's feeling better soon, and that no one else gets it.

Hope you enjoyed the snow day! Have a great weekend.

Alison.
