It was a great Labor day weekend, I have to say I had the best birthday ever. I'm so used to spending them in the hospital that it was nice to be out in the real world. Of course Rick spoiled me as usual. Such a great guy :) My mother in-law also came over and made her special Chinese food (she makes it better than any Chinese restaurant I have ever eaten at).

Isaiah started again with his migraines, :( Although this one does not seem as severe as the previous ones. But he continues to have them about every 2-3 weeks. I have no idea what the long term plan will be but the result remains the same.

Avery is starting to have increased pain issues. Something that I dread and when you see him start back with it, it's a killer. I will be calling the pallative care team tomorrow to see if we can adjust some meds. It could be b/c the boy has gotten so fat, LOL that he needs his meds adjusted to match his new weight. Nine pounds in 6 months is a significant jump so I am hoping that it will fix things.

Of course I cannot help but get panicked about the swine flu scares. For Avery and even Isaiah to get this would be detrimental especially to Avery. The kid barely survived the Flu B last yr. I think the problem for a kid like Avery is the secondary infections that would be bad for him. All I can do is stress handwashing in my house as there are sooo many people coming and going in here for school for Avery as well as therapy. I guess after being home for over a month now, you get so comfortable that it is hard to think eventually we will be back inpatient. However I cannot complain as I truely got my summer off and a great one it was.

So now everyone is back to school and work routines. YAY. Hopefully we can keep right the wave we are on.

Also special prayers are needed for a handsome boy that has been struggling lately,

Hey,
Happy you had a great weekend! We were up hear you in New Hampshire yesterday. I was going to pop in and say 'Hi', but forgot the map, and we couldn't figure out where you were! Hope back to school goes well, and you also get lots of chances to enjoy the end of the summer.

Alison.
