As I suspected yesterday, Avery likely has psedumonas pnemonia and he could still have another bug or two in his lungs we are waiting for all the final cultures. It sure is kicking his butt though. He was retaing so much fluid that they put him on lasix. We have been trying to wean him off Bipap but it did not go well at all. He is having major desats into the 60s even. The goal would be to wean him off of bipap (as it would be nice to see his cute face) and transition him to O2 by mask and ultimately to room air. I suspect it will take a bit to get to that point.
I thinking he will not be home until early next week but we will see. It just makes me nervous that he is this sick already and it is not even flu season. Eek..I hate to think about it. Hopefully with a few more IVIG infusions under his belt he will be better prepared.
If you can keep him in your thought & prayers that he is able to wean off of bipap soon and a smooth recovery. Thanks all.

Nicky, I'm sorry Avery is going through this again. I didn't realize he was sick until this morning.
Bacterial infections are fast and nasty.
