Woooohoooooo!!!!!!!

The sudafed seems to be working. I am so happy. Avery has not needed suctioning in days. He sounds so good. I have not heard him sound like this since probably March. It is amazing that something over the counter with all the meds he takes could be the most useful. I pray that it lasts. Although I do think he has a bit of a stomach bug going on b/c he stomach is so loud and he is pretty cranky with terrible gas, but honestly compared to the respiratory stuff this is nothing.

Friday was such a busy day at home. I had the nursing agency come out with their new nurse to get going. Made a ton of calls for the boys and then the Pallative nurse. She is going to be great for us. Alot of the same philosophies and she has tons of experience. Avery was very unsure about her b/c of course he thinks she is there to hurt him. Poor kid. She is going to come often to get to know him. She will be able to assess him at our home and call the Pallative dr. for meds. Hopefully getting us to say home as much as possible. I am pretty confident at this point that we will not live in the hospital this winter. We have worked very hard to keep him stable to home and it seems to be working. Just hope I can keep Isaiah out of the hospital and avoid surgery for him.

The new night nurse actually trained on Friday. I think she was a bit of a deer in the headlights. My nurse that was training her was saying she was asking "if he EVER sleeps through the night". DUH... that is why we need night nursing. I think she is pretty overwhelmed by all of his equipment. I don't have much confidence that she will last but that is the good thing about agency is that they will have someone new out for me b/c they want the hrs. filled. It is just so unnerving having people you don't know taking care of your kid while everyone is sleeping in your home.

Hopefully it is a quiet week around here. But, then I would have nothing to blog about. LOL.

Fingers crossed for the Sudafed. We have not tried it yet but I have some when we are ready.

I hope the nurse works out. I know our nurses find things here overwhelming at first too.

Hooray for Sudafed! Crossing my fingers it continues to do the trick.

Been checking in on you, but have been really bad at writing notes or calling.

Sending much love, Nena and Reese
