Look how grown up Avery looks. :)
Things have been pretty quiet around here for a change. The summer is our best time so I usually can count on a hospital break for a bit which is so nice. Avery just finished his antibiotics on sat. and is already getting junky again. He will be getting his first IVIG infusion on friday (antibodies) so I am hoping that he will go longer periods without infections. Just glad we are starting him when he is well. Other than that he has been enjoying school. He has been mouthing an "mmmmmm" for more. Very exciting.
Isaiah has been retching on/off, we are waiting to hear whether his phenobarb. will be increased or not. So far I have not seen any positive changes with it except he sleeps better at night. But nothing in terms of the cycles but we need to give it more time.
I have been having a tough time on the weekends b/c I am stuck in the house. It is especially hard to be housebound during the summer. I love being outdoors however the boys don't. They could not even step foot out in this heat so in the house we stay. For me, this is one of the most difficult things about having 2 sick boys. Our lives are dictated by whether we have nursing or not to do basic things and that really sucks. We are so very lucky to have the nursing and can't imagine life without them. Buuut, we will NEVER be able to vacation as a family, nor will Rick and I ever be able to take a 5-7 day vacation. So that really does suck. But it is what it is. I sure be happy I am not stuck in the hospital, right!!! That is my wine of the week.

Hey,
I'm glad the kids are pretty well right now, but sorry you're feeling stuck at home. It's hard to have parts of your life that you know are unlikely to change for the better. It really limits what you can imagine for your lives, and work towards. I'm sorry that the boys can't be outside and enjoy the sun. Hopefully the cocktails by the pool every now and then help with that. We're always up for a visit if that would be fun!
Alison.
Nick....HORRAY for Averys Mmmmmmm! That is awesome. Why don't you call me some weekend (usually Robert is working ALL weekend) and I will go over and sit with the boys so you, Ricky and Janessa can go out and enjoy your pool for a couple of hours. I know you think it's imposing...but I would enjoy spending some time with them. Call me sometimes, k? Love ~Donna~
I am glad to hear things are going pretty good right now. I definitly understand the not being able to get out for too long as a couple or doing things completely as a family.
Love the beach boys look!!! He is looking so much older!!
