The line had moved but thankfully it is still in place.......Thank You Lord..
He is red and swollen and hopefully it will resolve in a few days. Just glad it's still functional, things could have been so much worse. Think we are all set with drama for the rest of the summer, just hope Avery gets the memo.

Quick Prayers Needed
I woke up this morning to Avery's central line being half pulled out. I just about had a heart attack. His site is red and quite swollen. We are hoping that it is in enough for the surgeon to just rethread it. That would be the best case scenario. If it is out too much the they will have to insert a new one. That would not be good because he is an extremely difficult case for line placements. Fingers crossed that they can just rethread his current line. He looks great so hopefully this will be a quick & easy thing.

Avery ended up getting admitted. It is just so frustrating b/c I knew he did not have a line infection but b/c he spiked a temp while on the ER then there was no hope of going home. Of course the drs. did not buy this being a result of his IVIG. But his labs looked exactly how they did the last admission. His white blood count was down to 3 ( norm is 6-12), his platelets were low again, although his hemoglobin/hemocrit were normal.. He did look well so it was chalked up to another virus. I was certainly anxious to get out of there b/c I'm not used to being couped up there during the summer & they were not doing anything we could not do at home. Besides, it is the switch over of all the new residents and a time you would much rather be home, trust me....
We came home yesterday because his blood cultures were negative. They redrew his labs and I was told that only one value was elevated. I asked for a printout just before leaving (I just started doing this). I was surprised to see that a ALL of his labs were worse than the day he came in. His white count had dropped (2.7) , platelets (from 100 to 86), h/h (went from 33/11 to 29/10) and his potassium was high (4.85). Usually they will recheck the potassium bc there are usually false positives but surprisingly it was not rechecked. I'm sure they thought it was fine but you really never know.
So now I am obsessing over how he looks bc I know how fast he can go downhill when he needs a transfusion. He did not a great day today and I tried bipap but he fought it so hard and now he is on 4 liters of O2. He slept later than usual and was fussy today. You couldn't leave his side for even a minute. I just hope he improves on his own. I have also put a call into the immunology department to talk about pretreating him with different meds before his IVIG. He needs it but we have to have a better system in place to prevent these reactions on a regular basis.
On a positive note, our dog Milo will be coming next Friday. He had already been neutered and is doing great. Can't wait to meet him. Then it's surgery time or me. So lots going on in the next couple of weeks so Mr. Avery has to be healthy.

Introducing our Newest Family Member!!!!!!!!
How Stinking cute is he!!!!!!!!
He is a Cavapoo(Cavaliar King Charles and a poodle Mix) of course Janessa came up with this specific designer dog. The girl knows her dogs. He is not going to get too big (up to 15 lbs which is perfect for us) We are all actually excited to get him. The name is still debatable as it is currently Billy Joe (can we see us with a billy joe...) We are picking him up in two weeks b/c he is getting fixed. Cannot wait.................
I wanted to say HAPPY FATHER"S DAY to RICK!!!!!!!!!!!!! He is such a great daddy, I could not have asked for a better father for my children's. I could not do this crazy normal life without him. We love you.
Unfortunately, we will only get to have breakfast with him b/c I have to take Avery into the hospital for labs b/c he has been running a 102 fever since late friday night :( Surprisingly he looks great and that is why I have not rushed bringing him in. In fact, he still looks good. I would bet my money on it just being a virus. But of course with him having the line I have to rule out a line infection. I am more suspicious of it being from his IVIG treatment. He seems to spike about 4-5 days after his treatment. Of course the hospital will say that it is not "likely" but I know differently. It seems to be happening almost every time he gets his IVIG (every 3 wks) So maybe, just maybe they will run cultures and labs and if the cbc looks good then we can go home :) Always wishful thinking right. If it had been a week day I would have done the labs and cultures myself but I need drs. order to do that so let's see how much sweet talking I can do today.
I will keep you all posted. Happy Father's Day to all the Dad out there.

A few pictures from our shoot yesterday

At this point you all may be expecting me to post about once a week now. That basically means things are going well around here. The boys have been doing so well for which I am so grateful. Isaiah's retching cycles have been so much more manageable since he was hospitalized, Thank God. Avery has been doing great, he is on 9cc of j feeds without any issues, YAY!!!! Aside from his typical respiratory issues he is happy and feeling good. Janessa only has one week left of school, then it is dog shopping time. Eeeek. We are CRAZY for sure.
I went to see the surgeon yesterday and unfortunately I have multiple umbilical hernias that are protruding. I am scheduled for surgery on July 7th. UGH.... It is such a huge deal for me to be out of commission and not being able to lift the boys and work. I know it has to be done but it is a pain b/c I don't have nursing 24hrs a day and Isaiah is 45 lbs and Avery is 32 lbs both dead weight. It is almost inevitable to not lift them, but I am going to have to try to get more nursing hrs for those few wks and hopefully be able to cover them. One of my nurses is going away during that time :( I am sure it will all work about but it is very stressful especially b/c I will be out of work. No work, no pay. The surgery could be tricky b/c I have ALOT of scar tissue from 3 c sections so I am getting a CT scan this wk and hopefully it will make things easier so it does not have to be done open.
We had our Littlest Heros photo shoot today :) I wanted to be able to do it outside but the weather did not cooperate. It is sooo much work getting photos done with these boys but I think she got some great ones. Can't wait to see them. Once I get the cd I will load them on here!!!!!!!

Happy 8th Birthday Isaiah
Unfortunately we did not get to celebrate his birthday on Sat. b/c we were still away. I came home with lots of gifts for my big 8 year old boy. We still owe these guys a big celebration very soon.
Janessa and I returned this morning from our trip to Canada. We had a great time and I am so glad we were finally able to visit all the girls. We starte visiting the falls which is something that you have of course have to do when visiting Canada. Then we stopped at the Roung house and met Alexis and big brother. It was so nice to be able to hold her, she is so sweet and what a beautiful family. Thanks Steph and to your hubby for the wings :)
I finally got to meet Debbie's girls and her husband. They are beautiful of course and it was great to finally see their little personalities. Our home lives are so similiar with the kids so it was nice to spend the weekend with a family that gets it. I felt right at home. Janessa was is awe at the scenery and how different things were in Canada. She was also very comfortable there which is great b/c she is typically very shy in new situations. The kids did alot of fun things while Debbie and I just chatted away and missed a few exits on the way, lol....
I am so impressed with how well the boys did while I was gone. Especially Mr. Avery....... Nothing major went on while I was away and he sounded great. It was nice to come home to a healthy house and be able to enjoy my trip without worries. Hopefully they both stay on that track.
