Germs......
Avery is so enjoying school and it is definitely the best thing for him except for the snotty nosed kids that are in his face. I think we are going to have to build a shield around his wheelchair, lol. Avery only has only gone to school for two days and he already ended up in the hospital by the third day :(. He didn't even make into the classroom on Tues bc he was struggling respiratory wise. He had to stay in the nurses office for chest pt, suctioning and O2. By the time he got home he was feverish and sounding really wet. We ended up giving him a dose of IV lasix so we could safely drive him to the hospital. When we got there he continued to struggle even dropping his blood pressures so low that they were about to give him dopamine. Thankfully he started to recover his pressures on his own. Of course these behaviors earned him a bed in the ICU. By the time we got up to the unit, he was resting comfortably on his bipap and doing great. He recovered really quick bc antibiotics were started immediately and also bc he got lasix at home. He was doing so well in fact that we went home today. This certainly seems like a record for ICU stays right. Not so fast......when I got home he started to spike fevers, grrr... For now I am just going to wait it out with motrin and Tylenol bc he is still on antibiotics. But I may have to head back in if he starts to work to breath. Hopefully this is just residual from whatever he had on tues. Bc I DO NOT want to go back!!!!!
I have to admit that I had reservations about sending Avery back to school but when I get reports of how much he loves it, there's no way I can't. I'm just hoping his body gets used to all the other kids bc he really loves school.

Too bad about Avery. Sept is the worst bec all the kids immune systems are low & they all get colds.Sometimes the germs are in the air. But I'm concerned that Avery gets so many antibiotics. Hopefully, he gets some acidiphillus for his gut after the course. Isaiah hasn't changed at all except he looks much taller! And Janessa looks like a teenager!
