As predicted, we did end up being admitted last night. Avery continued to spike the high fevers so a line infection was worriesome. He also became junky through the night so I believe it is something viral or that he pneumoniia has not quite cleared. Of course I tried to get the hospital to send our homecare company out to the house for blood cultures b/c they can easily do this and send an IV antibiotic at home. But with Avery's wrap sheet everyone is afraid to touch him without seeing him so we always end up getting admitted.

I was almost certain he would go home last night b/c they were going to give a a 24 hrs. abx called cephtriax but luckily our nurse knew that with kids on TPN it can cause calcium deposits throughout your organs. So good pick-up on her part as we don't need any further complications. So he was admitted and is on an IV abx every 8hrs while his blood cultures comeback. So he should be home by Sunday with IV abx.

Yesterday was an exhausting day to say the least. As we had both boys IEP school meetings that took up most of the day and then I was off to the hospital.

Isaiah's went well. I am always amazed with how smart he is and how much he is learning. He is hysterical. He has done really well with his laptop computer over the yr. He is able to chose topics such as stories, music and family. It is a pretty involved system that he was become quite adept at. He is in an intergrated 1st grade class and does very well with all the students. They also are excited to have Isaiah which is so nice. It brings tears to my eyes just hearing about him. Also Rick and I handled business about the incident with the aide/rash thing. I am sure they don't like us too much but that is not my concern, as long as Isaiah gets what he needs.

Avery's meeting was the longest. He will get all the therapist and teacher coming to the house on a regular basis. Starting on his birthday in May. We all agreed that he is not medically stable enough to go to school. I feel that he has to show at least 6 months without a hospitalization and showing signs that he is stronger and able to be around others. Lord only knows when that will happen. But for now I am perfectly content with him receiving home services. I really think it is the best thing at this time.

Sorry to hear you are back in again. I hope it's a short stay and Avery can come home on IV ABX.

We are homeschooling Marlo as well. She wouldn't make it 2 weeks in a classroom without catching something.

Thinking about you guys.
