My little Warrior
Wow, this has been a week of many highs and lows. First with Rick's big wins and Avery being in ICU. This little boy is still here with us b/c he is such a fighter. We do you think he got that from (mom and dad). There were a few times this week when I thought he was just too tired to keep fighting but he showed me differently. Between the flu and pneumonia he has been working really hard breathing on his own but tiring b/c he has been breathing so rapidly in the 80s to 100s where he should be in the 30s. When he shows that he is tiring out then he will go on the ventilator to give his body a break but so far he has been able to avoid it. He needed a blood transfusion yesterday and is on IV nutrition. Hopefully these give him the energy he needs. I had not literally slept in week and came home last night to sleep. I am so physically and emotionally exhausted and am now sick which is to be expected. I am taking a break from the ICU today so I can attend one of the biggest day's of Rick's career. He is playing tonight for the State Title for Basketball. You can check out some articles on him and his team and our family (particularly Friday's) at www.eagletribune.com in the sports section. Wish us luck.

Nicci,
You and your family are in our prayers. I know where that little boy gets his indomitable spirit.
