It has been a long rough week for all of us.  I am happy it's the weekend b/c work was crazy for me.  I have hardly seen Rick b/c of Basketball tryouts and Avery has struggled throughout the week.  We have not even gotten a chance to decorate for Christmas.

We had started a new nebulizer treatment for Avery called Pulmizyme.  It is mainly used in CF kids and supposed to break of the secretions.  The side affects are respiratory distress, shortness of breath and a 5% chance of pink eye.  How about Avery got all of the above symptoms.  Grrrr.  He has been in respiratory distress all week so we finally stopped it on Thurs.  I have been in contact with the home Critical Care dr. and he thought that maybe Avery came home prematurely.  I don't believe he did.  Avery is never going to come home "all fixed up".  He will always have respiratory issues and alot of which we can handle at home.  I told hime we could handle his issues right no but if we could not then we will bring him in.  I think he is better since stopping the med.  Although the dr. does want to go up on his home bipap settings which I think is a good idea.  He did have a low grade fever last night.  We are just going to have to watch that closely b/c he finishes his IV cipro tomorrow am.  I am confident that he can fight through whatever is going on with him.  He has good nursing care and we all try our best to keep him home as much as possible.

In other news, the Starbucks (in Methuen) toy drive for Children's hospital is offically underway.  So if you are in the area and would like to bring an unwrapped gift such as DVDs for all ages, board games and baby toys it would really help Avery's unit at the hospital.  Plus you get to see Avery's cute picture with his favorite nurse Sarah :)
